In June 1982 edition of Last Orders*** it was reported that this pub was then owned by Tolly Cobbold.
This may be the only pub with this name in the country. According to Alfred Hedges' 1976 book, "Inns and Inn Signs of Norfolk and Suffolk", the sign at the time
depicts on one side a palomino pony with an attractive young lady on its back, and on the other a horse in the circus ring.
