Mark Hawkins at the Crown and Dial in the Cook-Row, the Corner of Hatter-Street, Bury St Edmunds.Ipswich Journal, April 14th 1753***

A report in the Ipswich Journal, March 30th 1754***, refers to a clockmaker moving from the Seven Stars and Dial to the Crown & Dial, at the Corner of the Hatter Street, in the Cook Row, Bury St Edmunds (The pub names may also relate to their business)?

Cook Row is an old name for Abbeygate Street, which allows us to calculate an approximate location. Presumably it was one of the buildings either side of the junction, but there's no information yet as to which one. If you know, please let us know.
