Overview

Currently closed: future uncertain.

traditional bar

opened: Victorian

last owner: Free House

address: 43 High St, IP1 3QL

grid reference: TM 161 449

Closed suddenly and unexpectedly late June or early July 2010. We currently have no news on what's happening.

Single bar close to Ipswich Museum. The name derives from nearby trees in Christchurch park.

The current management team (including a Gary Rhodes trained chef) are very keen on promoting real ale and good wines. They have also created a new restaurant and bar area on the first floor to help with establishing a contemporary venue to enjoy the food which is all freshly prepared on the premises. Food is available all day every day.
