Lowestoft Grand Hotel

historical era: late 20th century

closed between 1957 and 1992

South Cliff

Overview | Gallery | Historical info | Public transport | Map

The old Grand Hotel is now incorporated into (mainly modern and very ugly) government offices. It's shown as a hotel on OS maps at least as late as 1957. By the 1992 sheet it's shown as "Government offices". Available sheets in between are insufficiently detailed to draw any conclusions as to an exact closure date.

It's shown on this old OS map from about the end of the 19th century. larger map
