A large, mainly residential area just to west of Felixstowe. Formerly a separate parish it merged with Felixstowe in 1895. The settlement is bounded by the old Victorian style High Street area towards the north and the modern container dock to the south. The main Dock access road is to the west and Felixstowe town is to the east. Walton was recorded in Domesday as "Waletuna".

The Ordnance is listed in the 19th century as being in Walton; boundary changes mean it's now in Felixstowe. Historically, a large part of what's now Felixstowe was actually in Walton.

The addresses of old pubs (numbers and sometimes even street names) may not always coincide with the building's current address (if it's still standing), as street names sometimes change, as do numbering schemes
