The Mauldon family started brewing in Sudbury in 1795. The brewery with 26 pubs was bought and closed by Greene King in the 1960s (nothing changes!)
The current business, established in 1982 by former Watney's brewer Peter Mauldon, was bought by Steve and Alison Sims - both former employees of Adnams - in 2000. They relocated to a new brewery in 2005 with a 30 barrel plant that has doubled production. There is also a brewery shop. Some 200 outlets are supplied.
